CIDC 2006 - Understanding and organising for a participatory future information society

Return to contents page

Background :

The international "Community Informatics" series of conferences came to Cape Town in 2005, and established community informatics as a domain of research and praxis in Southern Africa.  It was decided to follow through in 2006 with a smaller regional conference, and that was named "Community Informatics for Developing Countries".  You have the result of this conference before you.

Although by design it was a more modest conference, it was no less interesting and produced some very interesting contributions.

The conference language was English.
